If you are like me, you wake up this morning to check Daily Kos' tracker, then check Rasmussen's at 9:30 a.m. During September and October, Daily Kos gave me first hope and then big smiles, as Obama's lead increased to +12. Rasmussen was always a sobering splash of cold water, because Obama's lead never got nearly that large. This was largely due to the differences in the cross-tabs (Daily Kos/R2000 had much larger segments of young and minority voters).
In the past three days, I have been anxious because the DailyKos/R2000 tracker has moved down to Obama +5. I feared that others, such as Rasmussen, would correspondingly move down to show a tie.
This morning's Rasmussen poll was a breath of fresh air. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_c ontent/politics/election_20082/2008_pres idential_election/daily_presidential_tra cking_poll. Obama 51 - Mc Cain 46
John McCain's latest ad attacks Barrack Obama for sponsoring legislation in Illinois that funded teaching young children how to protect themselves from pedophiles. The Obama plan is exactly what the National Center for Missing And Exploited Children advocated. John McCain claims that this is "sex education" that is "not right for your family." Only John McCain knows why John McCain is against protecting our kids from perverts.
Sarah Palin can't make up her mind whether to vote for 80+ indicted GOP Senator Ted Stevens or 44 year old Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich. Ted Stevens' only positive attribute was his ability to earmark pork barrel projects for Alaska and Stevens' indictment makes clear his lies to Congress. Looks like "fearless maverick" Palin is just another Republican without the courage of her supposed convictions.
